A project is your own workspace — a build you are working on, private by default, with a notebook for materials, tools, steps and photos. A guide is a project you have published so others can follow it, free or for a price. In short: you make a project, then you can turn it into a guide. Anyone who opens your guide can start their own project from it and add their own materials, photos and notes.

Yes. Every manual feature is free for good — make projects, fill in your notebook, publish and sell guides, follow other makers. You also get one Quick Start AI guide a month. A paid plan adds more Makeit AI: detailed guides, blueprints, and guides from photos, PDFs, recordings and videos. You can earn money as a creator on the free plan.

A blueprint is a clean line diagram Makeit draws for a build — of the finished result or of a single step, like the pictures in flat-pack assembly instructions. It turns a wall of text into something you can glance at while your hands are busy. Detailed guides come with a finished-product blueprint, and you can draw one for any step.

Lessons are short pieces of maker knowledge, one technique each — how to cut a clean mitre, how to fill a gap before painting. They sit next to guides in the Guides tab, and they are always free.

Public shows your finished result — photos or a video — on your profile. Others can see what you made, but not the notebook: no steps, materials or measurements. Published turns it into a guide others can open and follow, with the full notebook, free or at a price you set. Published is how you earn money.

Finish a project and fill in the notebook (materials, tools, steps). Open the Publish tab, choose Published and set a price. To sell, you first connect a payout account with Stripe; the app walks you through it in about two minutes. After a short safety and quality check, your guide appears in the Guides tab for others to find and buy.

When someone buys your guide, you keep 100% of the price you set — Makeit takes nothing from the sale. The buyer pays a small service fee on top, which covers the platform and payment processing (guides by Creator Pro members carry no buyer fee, so they cost less). Your earnings show under Profile → Creator earnings, and once your Stripe payout account is active, each sale is paid out to your bank.

Yes. Anyone with an account can buy a paid guide, whatever their plan, and anyone can sell too. No subscription is needed to buy or sell guides.

You earn XP by completing projects, publishing guides, receiving good reviews, and having your work cloned by other makers. XP shows on your profile and builds your credibility with other makers.

Every free account gets one Quick Start AI guide or project a month — a short written starting point, made in seconds. You can add photos to it as long as you describe what you want. Detailed guides with blueprints, and guides from photos alone, PDFs, recordings and videos are part of Premium. Every manual feature stays free.

Paid plans come with a monthly pool of AI credits. A detailed guide — a full written plan plus a finished-product blueprint — costs 6 credits. A Quick Start guide or project costs 1, a single step blueprint 1, a recording 2 and a video 5. Premium includes 50 credits a month and Creator Pro 120. The app always shows the cost before you generate, so nothing is charged by surprise.

Premium and Creator Pro members can top up with a credit pack of 50 or 150 credits, or wait for the monthly credits to renew on the 1st. Running low never blocks the rest of the app — every manual feature keeps working.

Monthly plan credits reset at the start of each month and do not carry over. Credit packs are different: they never expire, and they are only used once your monthly credits run out.

Makeit AI turns your idea, photos or notes into a real build plan — ordered steps, a list of materials and tools, and clean blueprint diagrams. Detailed guides go further, with a finished-product blueprint and a diagram for each step. It is the same engine on every plan; paid plans give you more guides and the detailed mode.

Yes. Your private projects are visible only to you. Anything you make is shown to others only after you publish it or make it public. Access is enforced in the database itself, not just in the app.

AI features only run on what you choose to generate with — your description, your photos, and the guide you are working on. Your private projects and guides are never read by AI and never seen by other makers. A published guide may be used as a reference to spot similar guides for someone else, because you already made it public. What reaches our AI providers is used only to produce your result and never to train models. To keep something away from AI entirely, keep it private.

Go to Profile → Delete my account and type DELETE to confirm. Your account is permanently removed — profile, projects, guides, purchases and messages — and any active subscription is cancelled. You can also do this from any browser at makeitapp.io/delete-account, even without the app. Two things are kept: payment records we must keep for tax, and guides other makers already bought from you, so buyers keep their copy. Want a copy of your data first? Use Profile → Privacy & security → Download my data. If you can no longer sign in, email hello@makeitapp.io from your account's address and we will delete it within 30 days.
