PREPARE PLANT FOR DIVISION
  • ✓Water plant thoroughly 1-2 days before
  • ✓Spread tarp flat under workspace
  • ✓Mark 12-inch margin around base

Instructions

Water the bird of paradise thoroughly 1-2 days before dividing to reduce transplant stress and make roots more pliable. Clear a workspace and lay down a tarp or old sheet to catch soil. Remove the plant from its pot or, if in-ground, dig around the root clump leaving a wide margin of about 12 inches from the base.
